Goings On…

So lots has happened since I last wrote on here. It was a couple of days before my wedding (which kicked a lot of ass btw). Here are a few of the major things that have happened in my life since the last post:

• I got married
• Mrs. Mackelroy and I bought a dog (Indiana)
• Mrs. Mackelroy and I LOST a dog (Indiana was hit by a car)
• Mrs. Mackelroy and I bought a home
• I finally got an internet connection

That last one (for the purposes of this blog) is HUGE! Thinking about it the other day, it has been nearly 600 days since I have lived in a place where an internet connection was available for use. Six. Hundred. Days.

Hopefully, this new found connectivity will lead me and the missus to put more posts on teh innernets. This post is turning into me rambling about nothing…

Are you nervous?

Well, the day is nigh: my wedding day is upon us. 3 days, 2 hours, 30 minutes (approx). That’s right, your old friend Dr. Mackelroy is getting married. With any luck our (outdoor) wedding will go off without a hitch… Actually i think that may be the wrong choice of words. Nevermind.

Anyway, many people have asked that time honored (and annoying question) “So are you nervous?” My response is always the same: “Leave me alone”. If they persist I give them a more detailed response, full of facial expressions, an occasional belch, and sometimes words. Many words, variable length words, good God fearing words, and words with meaning. Sometimes those words are even strung into coherent sentences. I tell them:

Marriage is a wonderful institution. Studies have shown that men who are married live longer, are “happier”, and make more money(citation needed). I have to say, I am looking forward to all three of those things. Who doesn’t want health, happiness, and money in their lives? Sorry to break it to you but being scared is not the emotion du jour anxiety has that honor at the moment. I am looking forward to all of the planning and preparation to be over with so that Mrs. Mackelroy and i can get onto our life together.

So once we get some photos from the extravaganza, i will post them here. I want to try and make a better effort at actually putting up worthwhile information on here in the future. Maybe Mrs. Mackelroy wouldnt mind joining in on the fun and posting from time to time.

Well, enjoy the long weekend and the weather it should be nice. Ill see you on the other side.
